Dr. Jeevan Rajput was born in Bendwadi, a village with a population of 900, in a poor middle-class family. Being born into a farming family, even his umbilical cord was attached to the soil. As his father was a teacher and a farmer, his passion for education grew in him under adverse circumstances. His routine started from 5 am, farm work followed by school then rest of the work and study till night. It was the same routine in uncle’s village too. Which lasted till the seventh.
For seventh, he used to travel five kilometers on a bicycle with his father. Due to his hard work, he came first in seventh board in 1993. Wearing slippers and a T-shirt worth 20 rupees, Dr. Jeevan Rajput reached Pune. To support the family, he accepted a government job as soon as he got his MBBS degree. He worked as a health officer for two and a half years at Nirgudsar Primary Health Center in Ambegaon Taluk of the then Health Minister of the state. In the meantime, rural health problems and lack of government health facilities were studied very closely.
